February Coaching Conversations

When: 2/19/2019 4:30 PM - 5:45 PM
Where:
MayoBird, 1531 East Blvd, Charlotte, NC

The vision of Coaching Conversations is to afford coaches, both new and experienced, an additional opportunity to share best coaching practices, experiences and challenges so they can grow professionally in a relaxed environment. Each session will be facilitated by an experienced coach from our chapter and will focus on a specific skill or competency that relates to the art and process of coaching. There will be group conversations and experiential exercises. This programming is free to Chapter members and affiliates, both of whom can bring guests interested in exploring the coaching profession.

Topic:  Coaching Clients & Conflict

When conflict arises in our clients' lives, it naturally tends to become the focus of coaching sessions. Given the emotional nature of conflict, clients may experience tunnel vision and struggle with taking a different perspective or approach to the conflict. As coaches, we play an important role in helping our clients' transition from venting to more productive behaviors. This coaching conversation will focus on sharing the questions and practices that have helped clients be successful in reframing and addressing conflict in their personal and professional lives.

During this Coaching Conversation, we will discuss:
  • As a coach, what are your tendencies when conflict emerges in your personal or professional life?
  • What types of conflict are the most challenging for you to coach?
  • How does relating to your client's conflict scenario influence how you coach the client?
  • What questions can help clients step out of the conflict story and gain a new perspective?
  • What are some of the best practices that you have learned from experience or observation?
